All CHI Fees are paid at the U.S. The CHI does not charge any additional payments in Russia, therefore you do not need to carry on a big amount of money to Russia. Here you'll have to pay only for your own travel expenses, such as tickets, hotels, food, souvenirs, sightseeing, etc.
All payments in Russia are made in rubles. The exchange rate of rubles to dollars keeps changing all the time. Actual rate can be found here.
You can exchange US cash in commercial banks, numerous exchange offices, in hotels, just find a board marked as "Currency Exchange" or visit a bank. The exchange rate for US dollars in Moscow may be higher than in the regions, therefore we encourage you to exchange here the whole amount of cash you will need during your stay in Russia. ATM machines are not very popular in Russian regions, except in big cities. If you plan to withdraw money from your account, please, contact your bank in advance to prevent fraud cancellation.
Most hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops in Moscow accept major credit cards, such as Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, etc. It is safe to pay with a credit card at all Marriott or Holiday-Inn Hotels. Some hotels in our regions accept credit cards as well. But be informed, an additional fee or inside-exchange rate might be added to your receipt.
Please, keep in mind that you will have to pay cash (Rubles only) at the most hotels in such regions as Kemerovo, Pskov and Smolensk.
