Hello Moscow Office! I wish there was a way I could add a picture to this post because you would not believe how much Anastasia and Owen have grown. I simply can not believe how many years have passed since we were there. Both of the kids are doing so well... so happy, loving and smart. I still think about you daily. I am hoping in a few years we will be able to bring the kids for a visit. Take care! Erin Kling

Thank you for all you do to help find forever families for children! Having never adopted before, I can only imagine how much of your time and energy it takes to bring parents and children together, but I thank you most sincerely. I love the latest news and events section of your website. It really helps us waiting parents keep our hope alive when we get to see other families with children and their happy smiles! Bless you!

Hello CHI Russia Team. It is hard to believe but is has almost been 11 months since I traveled to Vladivostok to bring my son Hans (aka Jack) home. I wanted to let you all know how wonderfult his is doing & update you on a few milestones he has reached. 1) He received a cochlear implant on May 8th and it was activated on May 31st. 2) He is now hearing, understanding and responding sounds and words. He said his first word(MOM) a few weeks ago. 3) He is starting full-time Preschool in a week and I can't wait to see how his vocabulary progresses. We will be celebrating our Gotcha Day together on the 15th of Sept. and then his 3rd birthday two days later, his 1st American Birthday with friends, family and a clown. I just wanted to thank you all and especially the ladies in Vlad.. Irena & Lana. Each of them was such wonderful support to this single mom. I cannot imagine going through the process without them! I traveled by myself for both trips but once in Vlad I never felt alone. THANK YOU, THANK YOU… for all you do to comfort and support the families traveling to Vlad. You both will be forever in my heart!! Warmest Wishes, Heidi & Hans Graser

Hello Moscow CHI team! It's been 9 months since we made our second trip to Russia to adopt Maxim and Dennis Golovkin from the Smolensk Region. I am happy to report that the boys are doing exceptionally well in school and have adjusted beautifully to their new life in America! While we were in Moscow, we met several families who were adopting through agencies other than CHI. Many of them complained of being misinformed or misled or frustrated with their agencies' representatives and their lack of knowledge and organization. My husband and I felt bad for these families but really couldn't identify with their frustrations because our affairs were handled so professionally by the CHI staff! My husband and I just kept looking at each other and saying, "I sure am glad we used CHI for this adoption!" We truly felt like special guests in Moscow, and your entire staff helped to ease our anxieties about the process. Thanks to you, we have very fond memories of our trips to Moscow, especially the second trip with Maxim and Dennis. We often reminisce about our visit and consider it one of our best family trips yet! Thank you for everything! Jerome Terrell & Colette Keyser Brentwood, Tennessee Operation Hope 2004

The Baird Family @ 26/08/2006, 6:35:23
Hello Precious Moscow Family - I am sitting her tonight gathering pictures for Sofia's 2 year post placement. It is hard to believe that we have had our precious little girl for almost two years! What is even harder to believe is that we are getting ready to celebrate Dima's 5th Gotcha Day. The kids are wonderful!!! Spencer is now 6 and attending the 1st grade. He is a very smart boy and so very kind! Gannon is now 4 and he goes to preschool and loves it! He is Mr. Personality. That boy always has a smile on his face. He too is a smart little guy! Then there is the boss of the house, Sofia. Sofia is now 2 1/2 and has all the Baird boys wrapped around her finger. Her brothers and daddy adore her (and her Mommy, too). She is very independent, has no fear, and doesn't realize she is a girl. She keeps up with the boys and loves to play with cars, balls, and action figures. Once in a while she will carry a purse and play with a doll. I think she will be the athlete of the family! They are all so precious to us. There are nights that Steve and I go to bed completely exhauseted, but we wouldn't want it any other way! We think of you often! Much love to you all! Steve and Shelley

We can't wait to meet you. We're awaiting our first "official" trip to TVER. We were fortunate enough to come and facilitate independantly in TVER at the end of April. We're SO excited. I received this poem in the mail today and wanted to share it with you. I hope it blesses you as much as it does me. Legacy of an Adopted Child Once there were two women who never knew each other.. One you do not remember, the other you call mother. Two different lives, shaped to make Your one... One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. The first gave you life and the second taught you to live it. The first gave you a need for love, and the second was there to give it. One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name. One gave you a seed of talent, the other gave you an aim. One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears. One gave you up ... that's all she could do. The other prayed for a child and God led her straight to you. And now you ask me, through your fears, the age old question unanswered throughout the years... Heredity or environment .. Which are you the product of.. Neither, my darling .. neither.. just two different kinds of love
Baird Family @ 04/11/2004, 22:34:03
Dear Moscow Family, I am actually writing this the night before I leave Moscow to go home with our beautiful daughter. Since I didn't get to say goodbye in person, I wanted to write a note of thanks. Once again, CHI provided another wonderful experience for our family. And once again, you made another dream come true for us. Steve and I count our blessing each and every day when we see the smiles and the joy in the eyes of our beautiful children. They have added such love and joy to our lives. I can't imagine what our lives would be like without them. Then, our thoughts turn to you guys. Without your hard work and devotion to these children...all the children....our dreams and many others may not have been a reality. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do and for the devotion in which you give. Thank you for THREE wonderful experiences and know we appreciate all that you do. You are more than friends...you are angels whose wings cannot be seen. Each and everyone of you. We love you all. Steve, Shelley, Dima, Gannon and Sofia Baird

Hello, Alex and I look forward to seeing the entire Russia team in both Novokuznetsk and Moscow again. We enjoyed our first trip and look forward to bringing our baby girl home soon. Everyone took such great care of us. Thank you very much!
Family @ 14/02/2004, 22:29:21
As a social worker for the agency, I always knew CHI families were well taken care of from the start of the process to the end. But my husband and I found out firsthand what all the talk was about. The CHI staff in St. Louis and in Moscow worked diligently to make our miracle daughter available for adoption. Through much good luck, we traveled on December 1, 2003 and brought her home on December 11th (her fourth birthday). The story of how she came into our lives and how so many people worked on her behalf is why we call her our "miracle Russian baby" (she is a baby to us despite being four:) Love, Dave and Melyssa Frederick (Breshears) and Katerina Rene (Katia).

Hello Ludmilla, Sophia, Misha, Susha and Zinna. I hope I didn't forget anyone. We have just completed Dima's 2nd year post placement. It is so hard to believe we have been a family now for 2 years. What is even harder to believe is that he is going to be 3 years old on July 27th! It seem it was yesterday that we all were together to celebrate his 1st birthday at the orphanage. If you could only be with us for the celebration. You are with us each and everyday in our hearts. The Dima and Gannon are doing great. Gannon is now walking and talking all the time. He keeps up with his big brother and he keeps his big brother going! They really love each other. It is so special to see their special bond. I will be sending pictures soon (in my post placement report). I will send some extras for you guys. We will start the process again in November. I have to have a little girl from Moscow. We have decided to only ask for Moscow next time. I'm trying to convience Steve that we need at least 5 kids! We will see! We miss you and think of you often. Miles may seperate us, but the memories are in our hearts. Our love to you all. Steve, Shelley, Dima (Spencer) and Gannon.

Hi Everyone! I was sitting here the other day thinking about how last year at this time we were getting ready to turn in our dossier. It is hard to believe we have had Owen for 8 months now and Anastasia for over a year and a half. My how time flies! Ana is going to be 3 years old in 3 weeks! You wouldnt believe how much she has grown. She talks ALL THE TIME and is VERY SMART! She knows her ABC's and can count to 12 on her own! Owen is doing great, too! He is such a happy little boy... always smiling and laughing. He is finally walking and even running! I swear he can outrun me! Anyways, I just wanted you to know we think of you often. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't thank GOD for giving us a family! We feel like we are the luckiest parents in the world and we owe a lot of it to you! Ludmilla, Sophia, Misha, Natasha, Olga, and the rest of the gang.... we miss you tons! Are any of you coming to the United States this summer? It was so nice to be able to see you last summer when you were in to St. Louis!
I really hope we can meet again someday! Take care!

We returned home from our 1st trip to Novokuznetsk last week. What a wonderful staff CHI has in both Moscow and Novokuznetsk. We really want to thank Ksyusha, Olga, Vladimiar, Egor (sp?), Lydia, Victor, and Natasha. You were all wonderful, and we can't wait to be back with you again to pick up or little Ariel. We also want to thank CHI for pairing us up with such a wonderful couple (Jen & Ken) to travel with. Things would not have been as funny with out them. It was reasuring to know that the CHI staff didn't just let us stay in the hotel and mope, they made sure we were doing something when we couldn't be at the orphanage.
Thanks for everything and we WILL see you soon,
Love,
Sherri and Paul Cash
(By the way, since Lydia loves my hugs so much, I personally want to send one to her!)
Cameron and Holly Salle @ 28/05/2003, 21:02:34
We recently travelled to Novosibirsk. We were very impressed by the CHI representative, Marina, and our translator, Alyssa. They were very organized and helpful. Marina was either with us or working on various issues on our behalf during our stay. Alyssa not only accompanied us to the orphanage and official adoption related activities, but also made sure she helped with any other matters. She even accompanied us to restaraunts and shopping areas. We cannot say too strongly how impressed we were by the CHI staff in Novosibirsk. While we only spent a short time in Moscow, the CHI staff there was also extremely helpful, making sure we had all of our questions answered, transportation provided, and sightseeing accomodated. We just hope we can go back very soon.
Connie & Robert Yonlisky @ 26/05/2003, 2:54:59
I can not put in to words how grateful we are for having Olga & Vladimir with us on our 1st trip. I hope all of your interpreters and drivers are as nice and caring. Our daughters Ramina & Leyla are everything to us and we are praying for a short return. 1 day is too long to go without seeing them.

My wife and I just returned from our 1st trip (May 3, 2003). We got to see the new Moscow office, which looks very nice. We also stayed in the Katerina Hotel which is right around the corner from the Moscow office. It is a very accomodating place that has a computer that can access the internet. The Moscow staff was very courteous and helpful, and we send our thanks to them. We are anxiously awating our second trip. Hope to see you REAL soon!
