Sightseeing

Dear adoptive parents!

Welcome to Russia and its capital Moscow city. There are many places to visit and many things to see! Each and every city or town in Russia has its great historic volume, but the most important cities are, of course, Moscow and St. Petersburg. Some of you might consider visiting St. Petersburg during your trip, but please, keep adoption as a priority and organize all traveling on your leisure time apart from adoption activities. During your adoption trip you’ll have a chance to stay in Moscow for a few days, of course is not enough to see everything, but you can try. Moscow city has many great buildings, historic sites, broad avenues, famous theaters, beautiful parks and squares, but the real flavor of this city is in its small nooks and crannies.

Don’t be afraid and go see Moscow! Just pass beneath the Kremlin walls and stroll around the historic precinct. Walk through the Red Square and feast your eyes on St. Basil’s Cathedral. This square is the heart of Russia, an important and exiting place for every Russian. Visit the Cathedral of Christ the Savior with a great view of the River Moscow. The beautiful old convent of the Novodevichy Monastery and the cemetery are also a “must-see”. The Tretyakov Gallery or the Pushkin Fine Art Museum house world-famous collections of Russian and impressionist art. Visit the old royal country palace of Kolomenskoe or just go underground where parts of the famed metro really deserve the adjective “elegant”.

The CHI adoption agency does not provide tourist services for our clients because we are focused on adoption activities only. Thought many of this “must see” places can be visited without a guide, or if you wish so, ask at the reception of the hotel you are staying for a tour-guide arrangements.

These are just approximate tourists’ attractions with open hours and tickets prices for year 2008.
